The Journalist code of conduct 2060 B.S (1998 A.D)

By revising and repealing existing code of conduct 2055 B.S (1998 A.D) and to cover all means of mass media an adjusting timely international practices and norms with a basic objectives of safeguarding the freedom and rights guaranteed by the constitution of the kingdom of Nepal 2047 B.S (1990 A.D) and making the people well informed and making the mass media and journalists more responsive towards the nation and the society and avoiding misuse of the same, by protecting the freedom of press by means of making the mass media and the journalists responsible and professional for the development of healthy journalism " The journalistic code of conduct 2060" was made. The journalistic code of conduct 2060 consists of seven topics.

1. Title, commencement and extension
2. Unless the subject or the context otherwise requires, in this code of conduct.
3. The journalist and media shall perform the following duities
4. The journalist and media shall not carry out the following acts,
5. Complaint and complaint procedures
6. Provision on decision and Enforcement
7. Repeal
